Fire Door Services

Harrison Thompson (manufacturer of Yeoman Shield wall & door protection products) is a FIRAS company member offering clients the following benefits:

FIRAS is a Third-Party certification scheme for companies who install passive and active fire protection systems.

The certification covers the application of passive fire resisting products, (includes PVCu fire rated door protection), using fire rated timber doors and fire door maintenance. This reassures our clients that when our directly employed fixing operatives are working on installing such products, they are doing so under the best practice guidelines as monitored by FIRAS.

The issuing of the accreditation underlines the high standard of workmanship that Harrison Thompsons’ directly employed fixing operatives have always worked to.

As part of the FIRAS scheme the company is audited on a regular basis, which will ensure the continuity of the high standard of workmanship.

If Supply Only material is required then the fire rated products that Harrison Thompson supply (Yeoman Shield) will be done so under the same fire test certification (tested to current standards) as they always have been.

If a customer requires door protection products to be fitted to non-fire rated doors, or doors that require an upgrade but no conformity, the work will still be carried out by the same skilled operatives.

For a building owner or responsible person in charge of fire safety, who require documentation, Harrison Thompson can offer a Certificate of Conformity of work per project. This involves the, giving the added benefit of traceability and a record of the work that has been carried out.

When an appraisal of the condition of fire doors in a building is required Harrison Thompson will bring in an independent Third-Party to assess the state of fire doors and frames on site. From this a full report is generated, identifying the state of each door set individually. This will ascertain any remedial work and passive fire resisting products, (fire rated door protection), required.

After the installation has been carried out the Third-Party party assessor will return to review the works issuing a Certificate of Compliance per door leaf.

This assures the building’s owner that they have a set of fully functioning fire doors that are compliant to best practice guidelines as laid out by FIRAS.

The above services will be charged accordingly and the Certificate of Compliance option can offer a 6-monthly review of fire doors & frames for an additional charge.
