Supply & Fix work must be carried out on any fire rated doors and frames by an accredited installer/joiner.
Harrison Thompson (brand name Yeoman Shield) are a FIRAS accredited company whose directly employed fixing operatives can carry out remedial and installation work under FIRAS and BM TRADA best practice guidance for fire doors.
All work carried out by our fixing operatives will be issued with a Certificate of Conformity which will offer assurance on the condition of a building’s fire doors.
A condition report carried out by a member of our certified Fire Door Management Team which will detail work to be carried out to bring the doors back to an acceptable standard and integrity in accordance with best practice
A charge of £500.00 for this survey along with an individual charge of £17.50 per door set will be applicable.
The £500.00 charge will be refunded on orders placed for works over the value of £5,000.00.
This report will enable us to provide you with a quotation for the work identified from the survey.
It will include doors and frames as well as any Yeoman Shield door protection products requested or advised.
All work carried out under the project will be registered on the FIRAS database and a copy also sent to the client.
This provides traceability for the future and offers conformity of the work carried out.
First and foremost, article 17 – RRFSO which in a nutshell states fire safety provisions (includes fire doors) must be maintained in a suitable condition and working order.
Maintaining fire doors so that they work correctly in the event of a fire.
Prevention is better than the cure as they say and having a good maintenance routine will dispel some needs of replacement therefore being more cost effective.
If you are the responsible person it’s imperative you appoint a competent person to assist in meeting your duties under the fire safety order to ensure fire safety measures are kept in working order.
