Youngsters help to create the 'shape' of things to come
Pupils at Greenside Primary School in Pudsey have come up with some 'out of this world' designs for wall protection panels that have been fitted into their school by Leeds-based Harrison Thompson, manufacturers of Yeoman Shield wall and door protection.
A recent investment in new technology has given Yeoman Shield the added capability to produce creative, intricate and bespoke wall and door protection 'imagery'.
Martin Hodgkinson, deputy head of Greenside School, said: "I thought it would be a great idea if the children came up with some designs that could be used on the panels and they were very enthusiastic and keen to get involved."
The winning ideas created by the youngsters in year five and six included a space alien, a penguin and a dolphin which Yeoman Shield included in iceberg, tropical, and outer space 'imagery'.
Martin added: "The children were thrilled when they saw the panels that included their own creations installed in the cloakroom area of the school. Yeoman Shield also supplied one of their own ‘Safari Sunset’ designs depicting African animals which has been fitted into the corridor leading to the dining area. We are delighted with the results which have made the interior of the school much more attractive and the walls are now protected from everyday knocks and scuffs preventing costly redecoration."
During a visit to Greenside, Ray Saperia, managing director of Harrison Thompson congratulated the children on their creativity. He explained: "By introducing 'imagery' to our protection range we hope to inspire and help educate youngsters in schools, brighten stays in hospitals, and create an uplifting environment into buildings across the UK. We are happy to consider any design."
