Yeoman Shield Helps leisure centre stay in shape
Yeoman Shield, the UK's leading manufacturer of architectural surface protection, has supplied wall protection products to combat unsightly wall damage and help ensure a busy leisure centre in Surrey complies with Health and Safety Regulations.
Opened in 1976, Woking Leisure Centre features 10 badminton courts and a main sports hall, which is used for a variety of indoor sports and is also host to various local events.
Darren Holmes, Building Surveyor at Woking Borough Council, said: "We have worked with Yeoman Shield on various projects and knew their wall protection products would be the ideal solution to wall damage that had occurred at varying heights from visitors using the centre's wide range of sports facilities."
"In addition to maintaining the interior environment, the mid-blue Yeoman Shield wall protection panels also provided a great backdrop and clear visibility in the 10 badminton courts."
Yeoman Shield was able to overcome the health and safety requirements, which specify that walls in such areas need to be completely smooth, by supplying Falmouth wall sheet which has a light relief pattern.
Geoff Alabaster, Area Sales Manager for Yeoman Shield, said: "We provided bespoke wall protection sheets that were factory cut to suit the specific wall size, and Yeoman Shield protection rail and corner angles were also installed to ensure total protection in vulnerable areas. Having invested in protecting the interior, there will be no need for expensive and repetitive redecoration."
