Leeds-based Harrison Thompson, the UK's leading supplier of wall and door protection, has donated four Playstation 3 consoles and flat screen televisions, accompanied by a dozen games, to children's wards at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) (including outpatients) and St James's University Hospital.
The firm's Yeoman Shield products (which protect against damage caused by pedestrian and vehicular traffic) have been installed into many of the UK's leading hospitals including the LGI and St James's.
Founded over 40 years ago Harrison Thompson now employs 64 people from its West Leeds site. The firm's managing director, Ray Saperia explained: "Our Chairman, Peter Brumwell, has always been a great supporter of local life and he thought of this way to bring some cheer to the youngsters passing through these hospitals."
Sharon Edwards, fundraising co-ordinator of The Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charitable Foundation said: "We are extremely grateful to Harrison Thompson for their generous gifts which will make a real difference to the children and help to pass the time they have to spend at hospital, either as out patients or during the time they spend having treatment with us."
Ray Saperia added: "The smiles and thanks we received from all the staff and patients at the hospital made our donation all the more worthwhile. We wish everyone well."
