Colourful new arrival for maternity unit
The arrival of Yeoman Shield, the UK's leading manufacturer of architectural surface protection, has provided a versatile and colourful solution to maintain interior décor and prevent unsightly and expensive damage in the new Ayrshire Maternity Unit (located at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock).
The 8000 sq metre maternity unit was built under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) programme and Yeoman Shield was awarded a contract by Dawn Construction to supply and fix a range of total surface protection products.
Yeoman Shield 2.0mm thick Falmouth wall sheet has been fitted to heavy traffic areas, such as the wheelchair and trolley parks, lifts and busy patient waiting areas. The attractive pastel blue, mid grey and regatta blue wall and door protection products cleverly enhance and colour co-ordinate with the new interior décor, whilst providing a vital function in maintaining the unspoiled appearance.
Newly decorated corridor walls are protected by Yeoman Shield Guardian Handrails which play a dual role in providing a protection rail along with a rounded grip handrail to aid patient's mobility. Ultra Corner Protection Angles give extra resilience to vulnerable wall corners, and tough Door Protection panels protect the appearance of doors by preventing impact from continual through-traffic.
In the maternity unit's delivery wards, Yeoman Shield Bed Head Protectors prevent damage to essential wall mounted medical equipment and ensure newly refurbished walls remain in pristine condition. Nurses' stations and reception desks are protected with Yeoman Shield Corner angles, eliminating expensive maintenance or replacement.
