Hospital waves goodbye to unsightly damage
‘The Wave' from Yeoman Shield's new imagery range (which combines wall protection with eye catching designs) has been installed as part of a refurbishment project at Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds.
Opened in 1994, the Hospital is a modern, purpose-built facility which provides a bright, modern environment for staff, patients and visitors.
Wear and tear from a continual flow of patients and staff, as well as impact from hospital equipment, meant that walls in the lift lobby on four floors of the hospital had become damaged. Abrasions, scuffs and dents are unavoidable in such high traffic areas, but the unsightly effect can be concealed and future damage minimised with the installation of durable Yeoman Shield wall protection panels.
Site engineer, Alan Booth said: "We have worked with Yeoman Shield on several refurbishment projects over recent years and they always deliver a competent and professional job. Also, the Area Sales Manager is very knowledgeable and helpful."
‘The Wave' is cut and shaped from impact resistant Yeoman Shield 2.0mm thick wall panels, supplied with a light relief ‘FalmouthEx' finish which effectively obscures abrasions. It provides customers with added choice and flexibility being available in a choice of single and double shaped waves, various sizes and 34 colours.
"The walls would have looked plain and uninteresting with single coloured wall protection," said Alan. "The wave design gave us the option to incorporate more than one colour and also colour code the walls with the lift landing floors which looks really effective. The job was installed by the company's own team of directly employed fitters and completed within a day or two with very little disruption."
