Yeoman Shield passes school test with flying colours
When Ifield School in Kent decided to refurbish the dining hall area it chose Yeoman Shield ‘Wave' wall protection as a bright way to stop unsightly markings on the wall.
‘The Wave' is the latest generation of wall protection developed by Yeoman Shield and is cut and shaped from impact resistant 2.0mm thick wall panels, supplied with a light relief ‘FalmouthEx' finish which effectively obscures abrasions. Being available in a choice of single and double shaped waves, various sizes and 34 colours, it provides customers with added choice and flexibility.
Ifield School has 174 pupils aged 5-16 years with special needs (some of whom are wheelchair users). The school prides itself on providing a warm and positive environment and as site manager, Derek Wade explained: "When we were planning the refurbishment our headteacher read about Yeoman Shield ‘Wave' in a magazine and we contacted the company."
Yeoman Shield sales manager, Danny Linger visited the site and, along with Yeoman wall protection panels, recommended extruded skirting and specially formed and standard radius corner angles to protect other vulnerable areas.
Derek said: "Yeoman Shield has provided us with an excellent solution to tackling ‘wear and tear' in the dining hall including chairs being pushed back onto walls and skirtings and potential damage caused by the movement of trolleys."
He added: "The hall is also used for other school activities and since fitting Yeoman Shield we have had lots of compliments from visitors (including parents) on how bright and attractive the hall now looks."
